Bachpan Society Organises Event during Book Fair for Children

On 4th September, 2012, the Bachpan Society invited children from various organisations to participate in the book fair. 15 children from Jaishankar Memorial Centre (JMC) also took part in the event.
The stage was decorated with beautiful and colourful flowers. The topic for the day was ‘Kitab tere roop anek’ (book, you have many facets) which was written in a wonderful font on a banner. Surekha Panandikar (President of Bachpan Society) welcomed everyone and introduced the event, explaining that the society has been organizing such an event every year and participating in the book fair.
Shashi Jain then hosted the event and explained the various ways in which books can be used as tools of knowledge. One by one, children from various organisations were called up to the stage and began making their presentations. In the presentations the first position was given to Nootan Marathi School, second position went to Ankur and the third position was bagged by JMC. All organisations present at the event showcased plays based on books.
After the plays, a question and answer round was held based on the books that children were reading. Books were distributed to children who answered the questions and the event was brought to an end.
